The Class 9 weapons are the most powerful weapons made by a house/faction. These weapons are mounted in a level 9 or level 10 hard point. These weapons are the most powerful weapons that you can buy in the Sirius Sector.

AnalysisEdit

It's worth noting that although they are a class lower than the prototype weapons, several Class 9 guns provide superior DPS. Specifically, the Kraken Type 2 Particle cannon from the Outcasts provides a greater DPS and efficiency rating than any Class 10 Weapon other than the Nomad Energy Cannon or Nomad Energy Blaster. It's also worth nothing that the Kraken's shots move faster than the Prototype and Nomad weapons. Therefore, a full loadout of Kraken Type 2 particle cannon can oustrip the DPS of anything but the Nomad weapons.

If one is mounting the Nomad weapons, or is going with Prototype weapons, it pays to use weapons which match the speed of the Nomad or Prototype shots, and also to match the Rate of Fire. This is because ships will begin to dodge when they get hit, so it's useful to lump the damage together into one big whallop rather than spreading it out. Since all Class 10 guns fire shots that move at 600, the Corsair Pulse and Neutron weapons are recommended (perhaps one of each). While both fire at 4.0, leading to a 50-100% RoF increase, the effect will be seen as "extra" shots, with the weaker Class 9 shots stripping shields quite efficiently, but doing a good bit less hull damage than the full barrage.
