The Liberty BDR-337 Defender heavy fighter is the current fighter of in service of the Liberty Navy . It is a highly maneuverable ship that packs a good amount of fire. In single player campaign, this ship is the best ship a player can get their hands on during the Liberty phase of the campaign.
Upgraded versions of the Defender are used by the Liberty Navy patrols, particularly in the independent worlds. The upgraded Defenders may be armed with up to 5 class-6 weapons. The Nomad-infested Liberty forces from story mode are fitted with class-7 Nomad Prototypes.

"The best of the best", this heavily outfitted rig represents the pinnacle of Liberty's technological advances and design savoir-faire. With its elevated armor and power rating as standard and the additional mount for firepower, it's no wonder that this ship is the number one choice of the Liberty Armed Forces.
Comments[]
The one of the two best ships that the player can get his / her hands on early in the campaign, with the other one being the Borderworld Series X Dagger Light Fighter. With 6 guns, it can almost outgun anything that is in your path, given that your opponent's level is still in proportion.
This ship is one of the few heavy fighters that comes with a forward-firing turret.
Defender's wings are seemingly retractable, although in vanilla game it is not possible. It's cockpit also seems turnable, due to the structure behind the cockpit, which seems like layered metal panels, which could turn a few degrees sideways.
