The Borderworld Series YX Dromedary Freighter is a freighter in the Borderworld line of vessels. It is most prominently used by the Zoners in the systems where they operate.

In the frontier, the need for individuals to move great amounts of cargo securely is crucial. The Dromedary combines the best attributes of the Series Y and an entirely new reinforced structure and defensive matrix to yield an uncompromising solution for commerce and trade in the most rugged of areas.

With a cargo capacity of 275 units, the Dromedary has most cargo carrying capacity among all player-flyable vessels.
While the Dromedary is not meant to be used like a combat fighter, it has just enough maneuverability and agility to make it a serviceable option. Properly timed engine kills can allow it to track more agile ships, and its powerplant has the same charge and regen as the Kusari J7P-7Q Drake Light Fighter. Furthermore, 7 of its 8 gun/turret hardpoints can fire directly forwards, allowing the Dromedary to hit nearly as hard as a very heavy fighter if it is positioned correctly. However, the light fighter-tier powerplant means the Dromedary will drain its energy very fast if it equips weapons at or near its maximum supported Class. In addition, it has a low hull rating and Shield Battery/Nanobot capacity when considering operations in dangerous systems, especially in areas where radiation damage is present. As such, the Dromedary should not be pressed into combat against heavier vessels, such as the Borderworld Series Y Stiletto Heavy Fighter or Civilian CTE-3000 Falcon Heavy Fighter—in such situations, the Dromedary's priority should be to escape.
On paper, the Dromedary is one of the less accessible ships to purchase, as it can only be bought at Mactan Base, which is run by the Lane Hackers; exacerbating this is that the Liberty Rogues and Outcasts, two factions the Hackers are allied to, also operate in the area around the base, so you must at least have a neutral reputation with all three factions in order to reliably access Mactan Base. However, the singleplayer campaign will reset the player's reputation with these factions by the end of Mission 7, leaving backtracking between Kusari and Bretonia as the only proper obstacle.
The Rheinland 203-ARM-B5 Humpback Freighter is technically an upgrade from the Dromedary as it can mount higher Class weapons and has a stronger powerplant, better hull rating as well as more Shield Battery/Nanobot capacity. However, it carries 25 less cargo units, is much less maneuverable, and can only be unlocked at Level 20. As such, the Dromedary is still generally considered to be the best freighter that the player can purchase.
